Brittany is an individual, couples, and family therapist with a passion for serving adults and children ages 10 and up. Brittany has a desire to help people through difficult moments by providing a safe space for processing, guidance, and direction.
Brittany has a history in law enforcement, where she was able to recognize a deeper calling to help others. Through her experiences, Brittany recognized how to have empathy and understanding for people from all walks of life.
Brittany spends her spare time at home with her children and has a strong value in family. In the future, Brittany plans to further advance her training and knowledge with specialized certifications throughout her counseling career, as well as pursue a PsyD in Clinical Psychology.
Experience:
Brittany began her internship in 2022 where she worked with a diverse clientele. Brittany’s specializations include couples, individuals, family, adolescents, adults, first responders and seniors, through Psychotherapy, Psychoeducation, Psychopharmacology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Brittany’s areas of focus include depression, anxiety, stress, infidelity, divorce, parenting, codependency, domestic violence, women’s issues, workplace issues, addiction, trauma, PTSD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder and personality disorders.
Education: Brittany attended Wharton County Junior College where she received an Associate of Arts in 2010. She transferred to Sam Houston State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2012. In 2019, Brittany earned a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Lamar University. Brittany served as a police officer for 3 years, before leaving the force to pursue a different career path. Although she does not plan to enter law enforcement in the future, she completes yearly credit hours to maintain an active peace officer license through the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement.
In 2023, Brittany earned a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University’s Marriage, Couples and Family Counseling graduate program.
