Supervised by Nicole Ponce, LPC-S
I work with adults and adolescents struggling from past trauma (including complex trauma and
PTSD), family of origin concerns, general and social anxiety, panic attacks, depression, substance
abuse recovery, life transitions, and concerns of self-worth. I am particularly passionate about
supporting young adults navigate new roles and changes in their life, often helping to process beliefs and behaviors linked to perfectionism and people-pleasing, learning boundaries for self and others, and clarifying values in their personal and cultural identities.
During therapy, I focus on providing a safe and supportive environment where you are fully accepted, while also collaborating with you to promote healing and growth. I provide a person-centered approach to therapy that is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally validating toward clients, while utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical
Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also bring in techniques from other modalities to fit each client’s unique needs for therapy. Some ways I help my clients is by providing the space and tools to understand their thought patterns and emotional responses, uncovering and empowering their needs, and
helping them discover safety and soothing in times of distress.
Previously, I have worked with adult clients in detox and residential treatment for addiction recovery, where I provided individual counseling for clients with substance use disorders and other co-occurring disorders such as PTSD, major depression, and anxiety disorders. I also led process groups and addiction psychoeducational groups that addressed substance triggers and cravings, addiction neurobiology, relapse prevention, communication and relationships, life-skills
development, and coping skills based on cognitive, affective, and sensory-body awareness. In my free time, I like to care for plants and vegetables in my balcony garden, cook new recipes, play with my two cats, and explore restaurants around the Houston area.
