About Me

My name is Amanda Breeding, and I am an LPC-Associate with a heart for helping children and adolescents navigate life’s challenges and discover their strengths. I earned both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Education in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University. Before becoming a counselor, I taught 5th and 6th grade for two years and have spent the past eight years working as a school counselor for grades 6–12.
My time in education has given me a deep understanding of the social, emotional, and academic pressures that children and teens experience every day. In therapy, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where young people feel comfortable expressing themselves and learning healthy ways to cope, communicate, and grow.
My approach to counseling is person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. I enjoy helping children and teens work through anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem issues, friendship and family conflicts, academic challenges, and life transitions. Together, we focus on building resilience, emotional awareness, and confidence in navigating everyday life.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with family, exercising, being outdoors, and reading a good book.
